A little about me
Hi, my name is Ty McGuire and I am a senior here at The Ohio State University. I am majoring in Animal Science while minoring in Ag Education and Extension. I grew up in south western Ohio on a commercial cattle operation and row crop farm. I arguably feel that growing up in an agricultural setting is the best possible way for a child to grow. Not only did I quickly begin to appreciate hard work and how it benefits an individual but also manners, and how to appreciate the outdoors. I feel farm kids are some of the healthiest students around campus for many reasons. Hard manual labor kept us fit, while being outside kept us exposed to pollen, a lot of ingested dirt (at a young age) and very much pet and animal dander if you were as fortunate as I was resulting in strong immune systems. After receiving my temporary drivers licences, the required 50 hours of driving practice had already been completed to the 10th power the previous 8 or so years. And to this day knock on wood, I still have a clean driving record thanks to all those miles and hours on the tractor seat growing up.
