Growing up is getting old

Everyday we wake up a day older and with every passing day we take on new responsibilities as growing adults. With the conclusion of college drawing more near everyday, I have quickly realized how fast time goes by. Its just now starting to sink in that I am an adult with an adult career in the near future. Where did the time go? I can remember parts of my childhood like they were yesterday. From baseball practices, birthdays parties, school functions, and even bible school when I was really young. Our parents weren't lieing when they told us to enjoy those days because looking back we didn't have a worry in the world compared to today, let alone what the future has to offer.

Whats to come?

Sorry I have been super busy lately and not keeping up with my blog like I should. However, I was watching the news last night regarding all of the negativity in the world today since rarely does the news portray positive updates regarding the world we live in. With that being said, the topic that immediately caught my attention was the issue that President Obama might be making peace talks with the Taliban and considering releasing all of the inmates at Guantanamo Bay. I wanted to pretend I wasn't hearing such nonsense but unfortunately I wasn't. Don't get me wrong, I hope for world peace daily. On the other hand like the famous Alan Jackson song expresses "Have you Forgotten". I'm afraid our president has, me on the other hand sure as hell hasn't.
Don't hold me to the facts and do your own research but this is what I correctly interpreted from the broadcast. If your not aware, Guantanamo Bay is where the the terrorists that plotted 9/11 are held along with other known terrorists that our military has successfully captured in the War on Terror. You're telling me that Mr.President wants to make peace by considering releasing these people? Who says the Taliban would ever even consider keeping their word. And if Obama does do such a thing as release them. How would that make all of our brave men and women who have fought and sacrificed everything for this country?This is a kick in the teeth to all of our soldiers who have fought and died while protecting our rights and way of life in this great country we are so blessed to live in. I'm now going to step down off my soap box but will continue to keep a close eye on this important topic. In the mean time keep our soldiers and their families in your prayers, and thank them every time you get the chance. God Bless
